[00:12.84]The goal of the organizations is to fight world hunger. [00:18.20] Ertharin Cousin is an executive director of the WFP. [00:23.13]She appealed to the global community to take action [00:27.44]to achieve a world without hunger. [00:31.08]Ms. Cousin said, "Working together, [00:34.56]we can all press for the changes that the world needs, [00:39.04]including ending extreme poverty, [00:42.24]supporting small-holder farmers [00:45.08]and ensuring access to nutritious food [00:48.92]all year round for the most vulnerable people [00:53.16]by investing in social protection programs". [00:57.64]WFP invited everyone to mark World Food Day [01:02.88]by posting #ZeroHunger on social media. [01:08.92]The organization asks people to join a new community Facebook page. [01:16.04]It gives Facebook users a tool [01:18.72]to switch their profile page to include a striking white circle. [01:23.84]It represents the target of Zero Hunger. [01:28.08]Ms. Cousin says, "The UN Zero Hunger Challenge [01:32.52]represents the goal we all share and the world we want." [01:37.84]Joining the campaigns to observe World Food Day [01:41.76]is a Japanese non-profit organization, Table for Two, or TFT. [01:48.92]It is holding a "One Million Itadakimasu" campaign [01:52.96]from October 16 to November 30. [01:58.60]Itadakimasu is a Japanese word [02:01.20]that expresses gratitude for food. [02:04.60]Japanese say the word before they eat every meal. [02:10.04]TFT invites people worldwide [02:13.20]to submit photos of their own rice ball to its website. [02:17.68]Businesses will donate five meals for every photo submitted. [02:23.52]The organization also held fund-raising events [02:27.68]in the U.S. cities of New York, Washington and Chicago. [02:32.84]In the 2015 report on food insecurity, [02:37.16]the WFP says 795 million people suffer from hunger today. [02:45.00]It is fewer than 10 years ago. [02:47.96]But U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon [02:51.32]said the goal is to end hunger by 2030. [02:56.48]"Hunger is more than a lack of food. [02:59.88]It's a terrible injustice, unfairness and inequality. [03:06.72]We are here today to pledge again [03:09.72]to achieve food security for all the people around the world ¨C [03:13.96]to build a global movement to end hunger.
