[00:06.00]His decision may permit a new government to be formed, [00:10.04]possibly ending the country's political crisis. [00:14.04]Yatsenyuk spoke on television and wrote on the social networking site Twitter. [00:19.68]He said he will give his resignation to parliament on Tuesday. [00:24.76]He said he hopes his decision to leave office [00:28.04]will permit Ukraine to make changes to its constitution [00:31.88]and to its electoral and judicial systems. [00:35.96]He said he hopes the country can then join the European Union [00:40.16]and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. [00:43.56]Yatsenyuk has been criticized for not being able to improve the country's economy [00:49.40]and for not moving fast enough to make political changes. [00:54.32]If members of parliament are unable to choose a new prime minister, [00:58.92]a new election could be held. [01:01.20]But President Petro Poroshenko does not want another election. [01:06.00]He believes a new vote could worsen the country's security situation. [01:11.96]I'm Jonathan Evans. [01:13.44]更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
