Bush, [00:06.36]has been placed inside the U.S. Capitol building. [00:10.91]People began lining up in the early morning hours Tuesday [00:16.02]for the chance to honor Bush, who died Friday at the age of 94. [00:22.73]All day, thousands of people walked by his flag-covered casket. [00:29.35]Alongside them was someone that came into Bush's life only recently: [00:35.57]his service dog, Sully. [00:38.35]Bush received Sully in June from America's VetDogs, [00:44.04]an organization that trains dogs [00:47.18]to help war veterans and active military members. [00:52.47]Bush was a pilot for the U.S. Navy during World War II. [00:57.95]His plane was shot down during a bombing mission over the Pacific Ocean. [01:04.13]Later in his life, he developed a form of Parkinson's disease. [01:09.59]He used a wheelchair in his final years. [01:13.32]Sully, a two-year-old yellow Labrador retriever, [01:18.57]helped the former president do things [01:21.40]such as open and close doors, pick up objects and seek help if needed. [01:29.02]But above all, the dog was a "wonderful companion," [01:33.85]said Bush aide Evan Sisley. [01:36.92]Bush got Sully just two months after the death of his wife of 73 years. [01:44.02]Barbara Bush died in April at the age of 92. [01:48.59]Sully has remained by Bush's side since his death Friday. [01:53.70]On Sunday night, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath [01:58.05]shared an emotional photo of the loyal dog [02:01.76] lying on the ground in front of Bush's casket. [02:06.22]"Mission completed," McGrath wrote, [02:09.59] along with the hashtag #Remembering41. [02:13.42]The image has been shared more than 65,000 times. [02:18.73]When Bush first got Sully, he wrote about the dog on Twitter. [02:24.03]He said, "A great joy to welcome home the newest member of our family, [02:29.97]"Sully," a beautiful -- and beautifully trained [02:34.22]-- lab from @AmericasVetDogs. [02:37.45]Could not be more grateful..." [02:39.96]America's VetDogs says Sully will soon begin working [02:45.00]at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center's Facility Dog Program. [02:51.61]The medical center is just outside of Washington, D.C. [02:56.37]There, Sully will help wounded soldiers [03:00.34] as they go through physical therapy and other treatments. [03:04.80]George W. Bush, America's 43rd president and son of George H.W Bush, [03:12.28]made note this week of the happiness Sully brought to his father. [03:17.62]The younger Bush wrote on Instagram, [03:20.62]"As much as our family is going to miss this dog, [03:24.66]we're comforted to know he'll bring the same joy [03:28.49] to his new home, Walter Reed, that he brought to 41." [03:33.36]And that's What's Trending Today. [03:36.40]I'm Ashley Thompson. [03:37.59]更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
