[00:12.04]The attacks endangered world oil supplies. [00:17.48]Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attacks, [00:22.98]which appear to have used drones against the Saudi Aramco oil centers. [00:31.80]The Houthi rebels have links to Iran. [00:36.53]The Houthis said they used 10 drones to cause huge fires [00:43.56]at the Abqaiq and Khurais oil centers in eastern Saudi Arabia. [00:52.58]The incident cut Saudi oil production by more than 50 percent. [00:59.59]That is estimated to be about five percent of total world oil production. [01:08.40]Saudi officials say the country will not return to normal production for weeks. [01:17.20]By midday on Monday, oil prices had increased [01:22.28]by more than 10 percent on world markets, to more than $60 a barrel. [01:31.20]Many details of the attacks remain unclear. [01:35.38]Iraqi news media reported that the attacks were launched from southern Iraq, [01:42.59]where Iranian-supported militias have influence. [01:48.16]The Iraqi government, however, denies that its territory was used to launch the attacks. [01:58.60]U.S. officials released satellite pictures of the damage to the Saudi oil centers. [02:05.99]The officials say the pattern of destruction suggested [02:11.26]that the attacks came from either Iraq or Iran – and not Yemen. [02:19.00]A Saudi military spokesman said an early investigation suggested that, [02:26.02]in his words, "Iranian weapons" were used in the attacks. [02:32.96]U.S. President Donald Trump signaled that he was willing to launch a strike to answer the attacks. [02:41.40]He wrote on Twitter that American forces were "locked and loaded." [02:48.12]In other words, they were ready to react quickly. [02:53.44]On Sunday, Trump tweeted, "There was reason to believe we know the culprit." [03:00.96]But he also said the United States was discussing the situation with Saudi Arabia. [03:09.80]Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a tweet [03:16.09]that "Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply." [03:25.60]Iran has denied involvement in the drone attacks. [03:31.20]It called the accusations "maximum lies." [03:37.08]Iranian general Amir Ali Hajizadeh [03:41.15]commands the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' aerospace force. [03:49.28]He warned that Iranian missiles could strike any U.S. base or ships within 2000 kilometers of Iran. [04:00.40]Iran has seized foreign oil ships in the waters off its western coast in the past four months. [04:10.20]It also has shot down a U.S. spy drone. [04:15.84]Saudi officials say they are holding talks [04:19.34]with other oil-producing countries about increasing oil production. [04:26.48]And, Trump announced on Monday [04:29.32]that he would permit the use of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve if needed. [04:36.60]That is a large supply of stored oil that the U.S. holds in the event of an emergency. [04:46.28]I'm Mario Ritter Jr. 更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
